I have given much thought to describing the method and manner used by Bill Schnuerle in helping horses with their people. Words just fail me. A Vulcan mind meld would suffice - OR, just schedule a clinic and see for yourself. :-)
One thing that comes to mind is seeing Bill stand on a horse's back. The first time I saw him do that I thought, "Really? Do you have to do that? They all (trainers/clinicians) do that." But I'm glad Bill did it, because it gave me insight into his character. One word echoed as he settled back onto that horse's back ~ CONSIDERATION ~ Everybody I've seen do this, gets within a few inches of the saddle and then "drops" onto the horse's back. Some maybe more or less than others, but it always comes off as not being considerate of the horse. Having ridden in two of Bill's clinics I can tell you, that consideration is every bit as present for the student as for their horse. He is patient and knowledgeable and everybody leaves his clinics a winner.

Rain and I have been together since she was just a few weeks old. Rain is now 2-1/2, and although we have a deep bond, the biggest hurdle for myself was transferring all the ground work I've done with her to the saddle. And even before riding her, Bill showed me some ground exercises that have completely transformed the way Rain and I interact with each other in the most positive way. We now have a mutual respect and understanding for each other that we wouldn't have reached if it weren't for Bill. Bill explained and broke down every scenario that I might encounter with my horse in a way that didn't make me feel inadequate, which is so very important to me when I am trying to learn something new. He patiently explained and worked with me until I was 100% comfortable, and never let me leave the session without a question answered or a useful tip given. I can't thank him enough for the path he has put Rain and me on!
